We would practice yoga every morning together and finish with a big glass of fresh juice. I was lucky enough to receive a new juicer from my parents and have finally kicked my caffeine habit out the door. Starting the day with a glass of fresh fruit and veggie juice is a great way to re-energize and reset yourself for the new year!
Pomegranate adds a bright zing, while pear gives a soft sweetness to this green veggie juice. I like to leave it unstirred to show off some of the pretty gradients in the variety of juices.
Pomegranate-Pear Green Juice
1 handful of spinach
3 stalks celery
1/2 pomegranate, outer tough skin removed
Wash all produce and cut into pieces to feed through the juicer. Press through a juice extractor and serve immediately.
Tip: To remove the seeds from a pomegranate, slice in half first. Then using your hands, break open to reveal seeds and inner membrane. For this recipe it's ok to throw the inner white pith along with the seeds into the juicer, just remove the outer skin to avoid any bitterness.
