Oxfam Campaign

We had a great time working on the food styling for a new Oxfam campaign. Andrea Huelse and Timothy Scaccenti did an amazing job creating a dark, moody yet playful atmosphere. The campaign's mission is to bring public awareness to serious food issues that are in the hands of politicians.

Ramp Ajo Blanco Soup

When we spot the first bunch of ramps at the farmers market we see it as a beginning of a new season. They are the first fresh greens of the year. These wild growing plants are found in woodland areas and they belong to the green onion family.

We love the rich garlicky flavor of ramps that is brought out through roasting. So we decided to update the traditional Spanish almond soup, Ajo Blanco and replace the garlic with ramps.

Behind The Scenes

Union Square Greenmarket

New York is filled with an upbeat energy in the spring. The streets overflow with happy people relishing the warm sunny weather. The Union Square Greenmarket is bustling with New Yorkers, dogs, tourists, and chefs a like, all searching for beautiful, crisp produce. Our leisurely trips to the market always inspire us to go to the kitchen and create new recipes. Ramps are especially bountiful at the market this season, and we also spotted some delicate pea shoots, freshly harvested cinnamon infused honey, and gorgeous violet micro greens.

White Asparagus Bruschetta

Spring is here! On our recent trip to the farmers market we could feel the change of the season in the air. Vibrant colors and new varieties of produce have begun to fill the market place once again.

A light lunch inspired by spring blooms combines rustic bread with sweet, crisp flavors of white asparagus and creamy ricotta.

We recently worked with Food & Wine to style their delicious cripsy roast chicken with fresh herbs and a buttery, shallot miso gravy. This dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner, paired with a glass of a full-bodied, fruity Chardonnay.

Today we're sharing a simple and satisfying lunch recipe that we prepare at the studio when we need a quick but tasty meal. Our spring pasta salad is crisp and refreshing with crunchy radishes, snap peas, cherry tomatoes, and dollops of creamy ricotta.
